GenerativeAI.tours

Introduction

I have created a website proof of concept that calls the Open AI API to retreive information and create a personalised travel itinerary based on the users selected destination, duration and interests called GenerativeAI.tours (domain name acquired but not used).

Architecture

It was developed in ASP.NET MVC / C# and uses a separate WebAPI project as well. The solution cleverly saves previous resonses using the prompt as a hash to act as a cache to speed up subsequent requests for the same combination of criteria.

External data sources

It also calls the UnSplash API to retrieve original creative common photograpjy images for each activity on each day.

Future steps

I could call Open AI API to retrieve and save the monthly average temperatures and rainfall for each location and present it as a chart

I could call holiday package providers affiliate program APIs to retreive and show package holidays for the selected locations to generate referral revenue if I wanted to monetise the site.
